Assembly TV broadcasts TV program from Assembly computer festival starting Thursday 6. August 2009 in many channels (Internet, cable TV, DVB-H mobile television, 3G mobile video etc.).
The broadcast has for many years contained Scene Quiz Show (the name has varied somewhat over years). It involves three contestants answering questions related to the event, demoscene and computers. I have worked with that show many times. When the show started we needed the answering buttons and lights like any real TV quiz show has. I built the first light system based on some really old PC (Sinclair PC200). The answering buttons connected to RS-232 port handshaking line. The parallel port data pins were connected to drive Velleman K2634 four channel triac card that switched the mains power to lamps on and off. The software for the PC was written using Turbo Pascal programming language, it was a modified version of some of my light control software I used to control some lights on parties in the 1990’s. The system had three buttons for competitors and three corresponding light outputs. In addition there was a “effect” output that give power for few seconds after each keypress, that could be used to control light and sound effects that tell that one competitor has pressed button. The system was built up very quickly, but it worked well in live TV broadcast without any problems (other then I was the only I could set up the whole system correctly).
Some years later the system was updated. The new setup was built around old Toshiba T3200 classic laptop PC. The answering buttons were still connected to serial port like earlier but were made much better looking. The light controlling part was updated. The actual mains power controlling was handled by my four channel light dimmer that accepts standard 0-10V control signals. The 0..5V signals that come from PC parallel port were converted to 0-10V and isolated with help of Kemo M125 relay module that plugs to PC parallel port. This was proven to be a well working system that was used for many years to come. The show is going to air this year as well.

Here is one picture from summer 2009 broadcast. In this broadcast the hardware was mostly the same, but that old laptop was replaced with a newer PC running a new control software.
My laptop also has itunes. But the home computer is almost 7 years old. We think it runs so slowly b/c it has so much junk clogging up the hard drive. But it is possible it could have a virus that my parents don’t know about. If I put the CDs onto my laptop, could it get infected with a virus?

I put music from itunes on the really slow home computer onto CDs and want to put those CDs on my laptop.My laptop also has itunes. But the home computer is almost 7 years old. I was on the internet (Mozilla Firefox) and I was just browsing then a message came up and said something like ‘Windows defender needs you to restart your computer to solve a problem’ so I clicked it and then it obviously restarted. I tried to log onto my user area and it took longer than usual to load up and when it finally loaded up it had a blank background and my documents, no task-bar or shortcut. The only way I got onto the internet was by going on my downloads going on Spotify and then clicking on an advert, for the past couple of days I’ve been getting warnings saying that I have a harmful virus so I clicked ‘Remove’ and it said it had gone but every hour or so it kept coming back up. Also I have Windows Vista. Sorry it’s so long

o.k. this thing called security tool kept popping up and telling me all these viruses I had on the computer. Well now it completely blanked out my screen making it the only thing visible and everytime I try presing Ctrl + Alt + Delete to go to my task manager it blocks it off with a virus pop up!!! The only way i’m on the internet right now is because I went threw start… PLEASE help me, there is absolutly no way for me to get this of my computer! Now it says it has a firewall up that blocks my internet. This is doing more harm then good as you see obviously.

Whenever I play a game on the computer, and hold down a button on the keyboard for a long time, when I press another key it has a VERY slow response time. It will still be doing keyboard movements from earlier. I thought it was a virus and reinstalled my computer, but I still have the problem. Please help.

Well i hav windows 7 and it was workin perfectly then suddenly it comes up with a threat detected saying C:/Windows/Temp/Bla bla bla/Svchost.exe. Note: ignore the Bla bla bla. its some random file i dont know and it is a temp. so anyway can anyone help me plz. I scaned my computer with AVG Virus System and it came up with trogan virus detected C:/ProgramFiles/WarcraftIII/WarcraftIII.… and FronzenThrone.exe. this pisses me off! and that has nothing to do with this. so like every few miuntes it comes up with a error sayin some threat has been detected. and everytime i try to open WarcraftIII.exe and Frozen Throne.exe it comes up with an error sayin WarcraftIII.exe Or Frozen Throne.exe Trojan virus detected. which has nothin to do with the Svchost.exe. this came up just after i started mukin around with This so called Svchost.exe file which is under system32. i have an Hp Pavillion a6430w,and today i had to restart it since i had installed a free trial of an antivirus,anywyas it would not restart it would get to the part when it loads on the bottom middle of the screen, but it just kept loading and not going anywhere, i had to restart it several times for it to finally work. any one else have this problem or know what might be causing this? my PC has shitty Windows Vista

My kid’s computer has got a virus on it, I need to connect to the internet while in Safe Mode with Networking, but I while in the correct mode there is no internet connection. I am using wireless internet, I just tried to physically connect the computer with the actual internet cord and that did not work.
I am running Windows XP SP3 and am connected to the internet through a Comcast modem and Belkin router. It says my internet connection is excellent and this problem does not occur on the other laptop in the house. I have tried many things and there are no viruses or firewall problems. I decided to run IE’s diagnostic thing. It said there was some problem, that I was told could be solved by using Winsock XP Fix (because whenever IE tried to fix it, it claimed it fixed it and to restart my computer, but then when I would restart, the problem would still occur and be detected). After using Winsock XP Fix, the problem stopped for a few hours, but is now back again and this program does not solve it anymore. Any help is appreciated, thank you.

My computer was running just fine until I visited a normal, news website, one that I visited a 1000 times, and my computer became infected with one of those Fake “Anti-Spyware” viruses. I used both Super Anti-spyware and Malwarebyte’s malware programs to finally get rid of that virus, and I rebooted my computer. The virus is gone, my computer is running fine again, except I can’t use the Internet Explorer or Safari web browsers (I’m using Netscape now). Whenever I open a window in IE or Safari, I get an error message, “Cannot display web page.” This happened once before, and I used the System Restore function to take my computer back to a time before a virus hit. But now, System Restore won’t start, nor can I get my computer to work in Safe Mode. How do I get System Restore to start up again? I tried several different ways, but nothing is working. Help! (I have an HP Pavilion Desktop PC with Windows XP Media Edition). Thanx in advance!

I tried to download ad-aware after I got infected, but it will not let me open or download ANY antivirus software to quarantine or remove this spyware virus. Ok, so i got trojan horse the other day. And for some reason the AVG i used wouldn’t work, so i tried to use other products but Trojan Horse would free them. So i Re-booted my computer with my CD (that means re-install my computer.. like when off the box) so does the trojan horse still have my credit cards? And if they do, do they use it to buy their own stuff?
Look in your Start Menu for “Anti-Virus”.Or a red shield in your taskbar saying you need Virus Protection. Then you will know if you do or not.
My virus protection was malfunctioning for a short time yesterday, and during that time I got a virus. I believe I’ve gotten rid of it, but I’m now experiencing another problem, which I suspect is some sort of malware that got onto my computer at the same time as the other virus. Whenever I try to do a search (mainly just searches pertaining to the problem at hand, although some normal searches as well), any link that comes up redirects me to a site to buy things or page of fake search engine results. I’m not sure what’s going on and I can’t find out because whatever has installed itself on my computer or in my browser is hijacking my search results. I’m sure there’s an answer out there, but I can’t find it because I can’t do a proper search. Any tips you can give me for how to eliminate this problem would be greatly appreciated. I use Firefox and XP Professional. Also, I have been receiving a lot of notifications from Nortons that an IP address in Luxembourg (212.117.174.176) is trying to attack my computer. I’m not sure if this has something to do with it or not. Thanks.

I have ran C cleaner, Spy-bot and a couple of hours ago cleaned the registry with Reg-cure, apparently I had over 2000 problems, none of these made any difference. I decided to do a full recovery but when I follow the instructions and try to boot from the recovery disc it just tries to boot normally and asks for my account password which I cant enter because the keyboard ain’t working. Any ideas

It was awhile ago when I saw it, but there is apparently something you can download and burn to a disk and it will delete just about everything from your computer to make reformatting easier. Anybody know what the website is? There are missing, necessary files on our desktop or there may have been a virus and now its all screwy. I just got a laptop so was able to transfer all the stuff I needed from the desktop to the laptop, so it’d be better just to reformat since I already have everything backed up here so to speak.
If you know what your downloading then it will. I’ve used it for years and havn’t gotten a single virus off of it. There are sites that can help you on how to prevent on downloading a trojan, bug, etc..
I was told that every time you do a virus check, logs are kept and thats what eats memory. If true. How do you clear the logs???

If you format your hard disk and completely reinstall the operating system, there will not be any trojans or information that maybe was stored to them earlier.

I have tried downloads, on a variety of computers, which run everything from Windows 95, right up through XP. On every computer that I have ever tried, I have tried to stay on “safe” sites, such as Download.com, to download operations programs, screensavers, and so on (Download.com is just an example, of dozens of so-called web-sites I have tried). Wouldn’t you know it, though. At evewry single site, that I can mention, I have brought back viruses, worms, and “tons” of spy-ware. And this is from the “clean”, “safe”, web-sites. I know that the best hackers can penetrate any connection, including D.S.L., dial-up, and any other connection, to inject bad codes into home computers. How can internet users “safely” use the internet, without having to worry about hackers, and corporations, “injecting” garbage into our computers? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Do this for any kind of converter you download: Before installing, go to http://www.VirusTotal.com. Upload your file and it will take like 2 minutes to scan it with 40 different Anti-Virus softwares. That should tell you if its safe.

I’m looking for a 750GB 7200RPM hard drive for my Dell Vostro 1520. The 250GB I have only runs in Safe Mode because of a virus I can’t remove. Alright, today it seems like my mom’s computer has a virus attack… so I just try to find a way to fix it, but i can’t, why? BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IS INFECTED. I found it hard to believe that everything could be infected and thought it was just an antivirus plot for us to buy something. We don’t have really have an antivirus (Just the standard free scan only that come installed every computer) but a thing that keeps popping up is antivirus live or something along the lines of that. Also, the webpage porno.com or .org or something like keeps popping up. I ran it in safe mode but guess what? It isn’t safe, we tried installing an antivirus but after it installed, we couldn’t use it, it had been affected as well. Before we ran a sweep with spy sweeper and only cookies showed up. Malware bytes antimalware couldn’t find anything either? Another thing to note, you know that one spyware/malware that tries to perform a fake virus scan in your web browser and tries to get you to buy it? That’s been popping up too.

Well, considering more than half the web is porn sites… and almost all porn sites have a virus, then yes, im going to geuss the website has a virus, now u r referring to a specific virus, so, this gets complicated, bc, that means u rnt reffering to a porn site, now, if u want, u can check the alexa ranking, or something similiar, or the mcafee online scan thing, that willt ell u everything about the website, including spamming email, and also hoaxes, virus, spam ware… ad ware mal ware crap, root kits ok? good luck on ur web travels, xoxo justin <3

Well since two days ago she has been getting a pop-up/scam thing popping up while she surf’s the net and she is kinda blaming me on something i done to make this happen i told her time and time Again it’s a scam to make u think u have virus on ur computer and and there trying to make u buy the virus software to remove It And she wondering how to stop this from happening/ to pop up.
