Hopefully with LEDs we won’t need to test lights as much. I found that they just tend to last longer, with none of those broken bulbs etc that normally cause things to freak out!

One series of LEDs failed on my new Christmas light sometimes after the Christmas without any abuse. So LED based lights do fail and will not last always as long as promised on sales talk…

Checking lights is a nightmare. I remember many a christmas as a child sitting beside the tree fiddling with jumbled balls of tangled cable, then later watching as my dad fiddle with the non-working lights. My grandparents figured the whole thing out though when they bought a fiber optic tree that has all of the lights self contained inside it. Ideal.

I still get gifts such as perfume and flowers I can plant in the yard. I love flowers, but not cut flowers. I always get birthday gifts, Mother’s Day gifts, and lots of cards with money in them. It is not passe. My niece sent me some frozen meat at Christmas to put in my freezer, and that was a very nice and thoughtful gift. I get magazine subscriptions for my sister and niece because they give me a special deal if I get myself one, and then I get two free subscriptions to send to other people. I think fruit is a special gift or a basket with different types of snacks/fruits in it. People do not usually go out and buy this for themselves.
