JavaScript tools for the HTML5 generation

17 JavaScript tools for the HTML5 generation article has an interesting list of useful tools. Look beyond jQuery and you’ll find a wealth of JavaScript libraries tuned for mobile devices, Canvas-based animation, HTML5 video, local databases, and more.

I have also seen some other interesting looking tools that seem to be something that could be useful.

Canvasdraw is an online vector drawing application that is free to use and which allows you to produce drawings that you can place on your own website. Drawings produced with Canvasdraw can be rotated and scaled.

Canvas Tools project has also produced Easel Canvas Path Maker. Canvas Easel program helps to bridge the gap between Flash and HTML5 by providing a way to create shapes for your project easily. The program is fairly simple and straight forward to use.

Canvas Tools project has also produced a FontMaker for HTML5. Canvas Font Maker provides a way to use a virtually unlimited assortment of fonts for your HTML5 canvas project. Canvas Font Maker can import TrueType Fonts and you can then edit them if you want. This tool creates bitmap font in one size and color.

Mozilla has released a web page creation editing tool that steps novice users through HTML and CSS. Dubbed “Thimble”, Mozilla bills the new tool a “webmaker”. Mozilla debuts ‘ridiculously simple’ web site creator Thimble article tells that Mozilla Thimble is a simple visual editor that allows users write and edit HTML and CSS within a browser window, and then preview and publish after that. Thimble offers a library of ready-to-use projects, including basic games, many of which offer functional web pages complete with lots of inline comments to explain how the page works. Those are designed to remove many of the barriers for novice users trying to learn code. Choose a project that interests you to get started.

Mozilla has also launched X-Ray Goggles, which allows inspection of, and interaction with, a page’s HTML. The X-Ray Goggles make it easy to see and mess around with the building blocks that make up the web. Activate the Goggles to inspect the code behind any web page. Then remix elements with a single click, swapping in your own text, images and more.

Mozilla Popcorn is an interactive video tool (still under development in early state) that lets you link your video directly to popular web services like Twitter, Wikipedia, Google maps and more. There is a preview version available now.

It seems like the internet is where it’s at. I studied Computer Information and Film/Video at school, but I’m not too shabby with a keyboard when it comes to writing interesting stuff. Does anyone know of anyone (aside from Drudge and Arianna Huffington) who has been able to make a few bucks by blogging on a site from home?.
