New charging cable Micro USB connector fits both ways

One annoying thing on micro USB charger is that you need to plug it right way. Now there are solutions to this coming in form of revesible USB type C connector and reversible versions of older USB connector models and wireless charging.

The reversible Micro USB would be nice to have for charging current smart phones with standard Micro USB charging/data ports easily. There has been group funding campaigns for “world’s first” Reversible Micro USB Cables, but instead of then I settled for a cheaper and readily available product prolink 2.1A Dual Face Micro USB Plug Charging Data Cable For Cellphone (less than 4 US dollars). I finally received the product yesterday and started testing:

The cable worked as it promised in the advertisement: It charged smart phone well and you can plug the micro USB connector in any way you want. I think every microUSB cable should have this kind of dual sided plug, it’s that great. And the price point seems to be right, not much more expensive than similar normal micro USB cables.
Pros:

Works well and smart phone fits both ways.

It works as described.

Reasonable price (3.59 USD / 3.25 Euro)

Cons:

The cable insertion and removal takes some extra force compared to normal Micro USB connector. But as the connectors start to loose over the time this might not be so bad after all.

One thing I noticed on the connector when I looked closely to it: The power and ground contacts are very close inside the connector – question how long will it stand use before I get short circuit here. Here is a picture from product page that shows the connector construction clearly.

LMcable looks to bring unity to USB and Lightning connections
One cable to find them and in the darkness bind them

ALCHEMY IS afoot on Kickstarter with a team looking for funding to create the unheard of: a USB and Lightning connection from a single cable.

We’re quite impressed with the fact that the Australian team behind LMcable has managed to make what is basically a cable sound like a product that will change your life forever.

In fairness, the LMcable could be the best thing to happen for anyone straddling the murky ground between Apple and the normal world, especially as it claims to be small enough to fit into most protective cases. That’s some thin cable we’re talking there.

Super strong nylon braided cable with aluminum robust shell and gold plated plugs to prevent corrosion , all this together makes the MicFlip into the world’s best Micro USB cable ( according to Gizmodo , Mashable and many more ) . The cable will work with ALL micro USB devices such as smartphones , gaming controllers , bluetooth speakers and more. Thank you for the help!

Never Plug in a USB Wrong EVER Again

The real problem is when the USB port is at the back of the computer, even you’re doing the right orientation there’s still a great chance you’ll struggle plugging it in.
