Changing an auto's 12VDC to 5VDC

I need to change the +12VDC that goes to the stereo to about or below 5VDC in order to power some LED's because my dashboard lamps are all busted. Please give me a circuit or an idea or something cuz I'm lost! Thanks a bunch!
