: Does anybody know the difference between a cheap
: vga-cable and an expensive svga-cable?

: Please give me an advice which cable i should by..

: thanks rob.

An an expensive svga-cable is made of (should be)
made of a good quality cable which carries the
RGB signals using separate 75 ohm coaxial cables
inside the main cable shealt. Using 75 ohm cable
to carry RGB signals avoids interference, signal
loss end interference.

Cheap VGA cables are usually built using cheapest
shielded computer cable the manufacturer has found (this has been case for the cables I have
come by and have opened). This kind if cheap multiwire cable with only one shield is not suitable to properly carry high frequency RGB signals. The reason for this is that this kind
of cable has wrong impedance (causes signal
reflections) and has lost of crosstalk between
signal wires (causes problem to picture).

If you are running anything higher than 640x480
resolution and care in any way of picture quality
I recommend you to go to that proper SVGA cable.
It is more expensive, but you will be much happier with proper cable which gives decent
picture quality.
