hi ,
I salvaged a "Dell Latitude CPi A-Series" laptop Pentium II computer, without CD and floppy drive. When i first turned it on a dialog box apperaed asking for password. I thought i can disable this by removing and inserting back the Bios chip if i can find it in somewhere. There were two memeory modules of 64 mb each and along with that there was a small brown chip which says "
AM29F04DB
- 120JL V
0013MVNL
© 1993 AMD ."

Thinking it was a BIOS, i removed it and insert it back on.
Now when i turn the laptop on, the screen remains blank and dead. The standby
LED indicator turns on for some seconds and then afterwards it also gets off.

Now I know that it is a 512 kb flash memory made by AMD company to protect the PC. It is now keeping the laptop in Standby mode.

DO I need to reprogramme it , if yes ; how ?
OR I need to replace it ????

If anyone of you who can help me in this matter ,
PLEASE REPLY ME.
