I have already design and simulate a Tri-band PIFA
antenna. I run a final year for a Beng Telecommunication
engineering degree. University provides the CAD tool
necesary for such designs. At this moment I have a
0.9, 1.8, 3 GHz bands, with an improved Return Loss.
Good return loss is from -10dB for mobile communication
antennas. The measure has been just done by simulation
on CAD tools, 'cos I still have to construct the
antenna. You are not wrong, this type of antenna is the
common used in second generation mobile handsets.
You could build it at home, but need powerfull CAD.
Please, now I am in need to find out more about reducing
the PIFA antenna, using PBG structure (Photonic Band-GAP)
Thanks
