First 1:1 audio transformer, 10k/10k, hand-wound in the workshop.

it was time to venture into the mysterious world of in-house winding. This is a solid first step.
First successful test after three failed winding attempts.
Configuration:
Simple primary and secondary windings
Same winding direction (co-directional)
Measured performance:
Inductance: 15 H @ 100 Hz
+18 dBu at 1% THD @ 50 Hz
This results in a strong low-frequency response.
High-frequency performance can likely be improved by optimizing winding direction, adding an electrostatic shield, or using interleaved (sandwich-style) windings.
These parameters will directly impact parasitic capacitance, bandwidth, and coupling between windings.
In short, the possibilities are endless, with a significant amount of testing ahead.
There’s still a lot of work to do, but I’m definitely on the right track.
