Yhdysvalloissa on tutkittu pitkään Dreamlinereiden turvallisuutta, mutta Olli Jaarisen mukaan 787-8-koneita pidetään yleisesti turvallisena. Vastaavia onnettomuuksia ei ole aiemmin tapahtunut.

Lontooseen matkalla ollut Air Indian matkustajakone on Britannian yleisradioyhtiö BBC:n mukaan malliltaan Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Onnettomuus on ensimmäinen kerta, kun kyseinen malli on syöksynyt maahan.

SeatGuru says the plane has a total of 256 seats onboard - it&#039;s not known exactly how many of those were occupied.

It was scheduled to land at 18:25 at Gatwick.
