Huawei on luopumassa Microsoft Windows -käyttöjärjestelmän käyttämisestä uusissa tietokoneissaan. Muutos astuisi voimaan huhtikuusta alkaen.

Huawei ei välttämättä enää tarjoa Windows-tietokoneita ainakaan Kiinan markkinoilla. Yritys on siirtämässä painopistettä omaan HarmonyOS-käyttöjärjestelmäänsä ja myös Linuxiin.

HarmonyOS on alun perin Linux-ytimeen pohjautuva käyttöjärjestelmä. Nykyisin se on täysin uudelleenrakennettu alusta, jossa on oma ytimensä sekä ohjelmistokehitys.
