Wärk:fest maker event in Finland coming

Maker Faire has been on several news lately. Maker Faire is an event created by Make magazine to “celebrate arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset”.

Maker Faire does not seem to be not coming to Finland any time soon, but a group of people are putting together own event in Finland for all makers.

WÄRK:fest is a week-end event 20-21 October2012 atKaapelitehdas in Helsinki Finland. WÄRK:fest promises to provide an opportunity to showcase different projects, prototypes and techniques in an inspiring environment. The idea is that workers will share their ideas and knowledge by having their own workstations or by giving workshops, presentations and speeches. I expect it to be an interesting even because I know some people behind the event. If this king of DIY event interests you it could maybe worth to drop by.

Continental Europe’s first official sanctioned Maker Faire is well underway in the Netherlands, tucked away at the Open Lab Ebbinge in the city of Groningen.
