Finland has toppled Sweden from the top spot in a ranking of economies that are best placed to benefit from new information and communication technologies (ICTs). The question still remains how this result was got because there are many things in Finland ICT that are are far from very good, so are other countries just much lousier on those aspects?

At the core of the report, the Networked Readiness Index (NRI) measures the preparedness of an economy to use ICT to boost competitiveness and well-being. In this edition, Finland (1st), Singapore (2nd) and Sweden (3rd) continue to lead the NRI, with the Netherlands (4th), Norway (5th), Switzerland (6th), the United Kingdom (7th), Denmark (8th), the United States (9th) and Taiwan, China (10th) completing the top 10.

Point of view: Productivity leap has already occurred

Aalto University School of Economics Professor Pertti Haparanta keep the government’s efforts to achieve productivity leap redundant. Therefore, they should be canceled. Finland’s industrial unit labor costs in relation to the German industry have two years more than halved, to write Haparanta in academic budgets blog.

A line parallel to the previously represented YLE interview is also another Aalto University economics professor and a long line of number one economist Sixten Korkman. He thinks that the best result for Finland’s competitiveness would enable the continuation of moderate wage settlements from autumn 2016 onwards.

Why the government is so busy that the continuation of moderate wage policy in the autumn of 2016 seems to care? The Board of Directors is urgent for two reasons. The economic reason is that economic growth seems to start for Finland in respect of small characters. The current account turned to positive territory in July

In some areas perceived regionally as early as skilled labor shortages. If the economy starts to show a plus, it is the government’s actions in the labor market even more difficult to export through. The second reason is political: Sipilä needs to get through their lists before the True Finns back the political potential bursts.

All of the companies are technology companies

Traditionally, information technology companies have compartmentalized their own compartment. The IT department has provided support for micro, työasemahuolloista, updates, and user support. Later, compresses have confused many types of outsourcing, enabling partner companies have been taken to handle the same tasks.

Since then, in particular, many large companies have woken up that information technology and technology in general have a separate palette of the company’s operations. More and more, the company has raised CIOs Board of Directors technology expert. The global major company activities are integrated so tightly together with the possibilities offered by information technology, the opportunity to kind of means, at worst, a substantial dents in productivity and competitiveness.

Enterprise-level phenomenon is known: the information technology revolution of all the enterprises have become technology companies. Although the company’s main areas would be banking, logistics or retail, IT and technology solutions are an infinite integral part of the competitiveness and survival.

In recent times there has been talk on productivity leap. Many SMEs efficiency could probably raise significantly the appropriate IT precisely targeted. The mere thousands of dollars of investment by size mobile user-friendly e-commerce and new technology to enable advertising could at best appear as appreciable improvement in net sales of the company.

Many Finnish small businesses sell their products primarily for other Finnish companies. Could e-commerce and a suitable marketing precision strikes enables a substantial business in the wider global or even on a Nordic scale?

If the answer is yes, the profitability of the investment should be cleared as soon as possible.

In particular, small family businesses is easy to get stuck in doing things as usual. Review of practices at a distance can bring good ideas to improve efficiency, for example the use of cloud tools and mobile technologies can open up completely different from the former possibilities.

Changed the code. Except that. Changing the PIN code does now and then for some reason declined all – it did not change – so use old one.

Except that watching was not possible. The new machine is not found Microsoft’s Silverlight plug-in. The Installing fortunately did not require many mouse clicks more.

For some reason, the computer having tried all other video services yes revolve around nicely, was unable to show the film.

I sighed deeply, and the switch current known tangled set-top box – had to pay my rent for another day.

Espoo moved in last winter rumors that the police investigate the fate of missing persons from the City of computers. Missing was 9 600 computer, a laptop, a printer and a display screen, which was leased to the city workers and school children.

Western Uusimaa police suspected of serious embezzlement. There were several lines of inquiry, but the details of the police was silent. Police did not rule out the option that the machines had been sold forward. Missing equipment was leased to the life cycle of a service, Fujitsu, and its financing and leasing services responded Danske Finance. Additional costs arise from the fact it was feared that the city would have to pay unreturned rental equipment for late rentals. Event Skein had begun to unravel in 2012: At the time of invoicing hired a leasing contract the equipment found in examination irregularities.

“Preliminary investigation has not found any of the missing computers.”

“Talking about the long-lasting neglect. Preliminary investigation shows whether it is gross negligence or intentional. ”

In its last summer, media interviews Suuperko told reporters that the equipment rent business activities had significant shortcomings – he did not suspect city staff for disappearance of the equipment.

The missing from the City of Espoo 9600 computing device may not have even been there, reported on Society. There may be accounting fraud.

The theory shows the chairman of the city council of Espoo Jyrki Kasvi.

“Leasing process was not controlled by the subscriber, ie the City of Espoo.”

“It is more likely that the book has not worked. I believe that 80 per cent probability that these machines have been lost existed, but attempts have been made to charge them. I dare not speculate about who has done what,”

The disappearance of the Espoo computers smacks strongly that the missing machines may not have existed. Plant says Jyrki noticed that the device registers maintenance is poor in many organizations.

“When I talked with people, many have said that no one has accurate information about how many computers have and where.”

“Espoo error is that it is outsourced and then forgotten the whole thing. Although the external supplier promises to take care of the life cycle and its monitoring, the town itself be an indication of what’s going on. ”

So far, however, this is just a guess, albeit from prudent – police investigation has not given out details.
Espoo launched a police investigation after the billing of leased equipment found ambiguities. Soon it was revealed that Espoolta was missing more than 9600 computers, a laptop, a printer and a display screen. The equipment was rented from Fujitsu.

The services leader Mauri Suuperko has criticized the Finance and former partners, Fujitsu and Danske, activity incomplete. Louhelainen according to the Espoo has reason to look in the mirror.

“If the Espoo should have its own process condition, the city would have been able to prove who’s made a mistake,”

Underlying problems of Espoo has Kirsi Louhelainen a systematically distorted culture.

“It is good that the problems are discussed, and that it is attractive to people.”

The city has a serious reason to re-evaluate the outsourcing of service processes, was the result of police investigations no matter what.

“How is it possible that an agreement is reached and then its realization no one monitored? This process has not been anyone’s control, when all thought that someone else take care of it. At the moment, all just waiting to see what the police find, ”

Seppälä, the Finnish companies are performing now beginning to be in a hurry.

Companies are doing our relatively little investment. We are somewhere in between catching up and agile applier, Seppälä image.

His instructions to companies is simple. – Now is the time to invest in the future. If the customer wishes a new solution, one needs to be developed. And then you have to sell! Sell, sell, sell!

We are facing big challenges. – It must be remembered that none of Finnish industrial company that no internet-up company.

Seppälä said that the State should have a very active role in the development of IoT business.

In Finland, the industrial Internet is already addressed in a number of seminars. They Seppälä has noticed that the ideas are often received enthusiastically. Enthusiasm, however, should lead to action. – Twitter activity is not enough.

trip to the industrial to the Internet is to start by looking at the sensors and sensors in the world. You should think about what kind of senses, ie sensors would be possible to put into the company’s products or services.

    - The key question is always whether the information collected by the sensors business benefits. Can corporate data to help sell more, can it develop new products and services, or to change the manufacturing process more profitable.
