Tietoviikko reports that Finland (my home country) is the world’s best IT country according to World Economic Forum study The Global Information Technology Report 2013. According to the study, Finland is the world’s number one country when it comes to the economy’s ability to use information technology to competitiveness and prosperity. Finland has toppled Sweden from the top spot in a ranking of economies that are best placed to benefit from new information and communication technologies (ICTs). The question still remains how this result was got because there are many things in Finland ICT that are are far from very good, so are other countries just much lousier on those aspects?
At the core of the report, the Networked Readiness Index (NRI) measures the preparedness of an economy to use ICT to boost competitiveness and well-being. In this edition, Finland (1st), Singapore (2nd) and Sweden (3rd) continue to lead the NRI, with the Netherlands (4th), Norway (5th), Switzerland (6th), the United Kingdom (7th), Denmark (8th), the United States (9th) and Taiwan, China (10th) completing the top 10.

Note to customers: Do not let the weight value of the reference, which does not have a public reference permission or your contact information (which may call and ask the customer relationship). Multiplied by the sales group meeting, confidential stories are almost always more beautiful than reality.
Conversely: You should appreciate those offices with good reference descriptions of the customer’s contact information, and preferably in similar projects to what is actually doing.

Energy dependence on Russia should be neither exaggerated nor demonised, states Ilkka Kananen, a former chief executive at the National Emergency Supply Agency.
Finland is regularly regarded as a country very dependent on its eastern neighbour because energy imports from Russia account for 60 per cent of the value of all energy imports into the country. The imports from Russia include oil, coal, gas, nuclear fuel and electricity.
Oil and natural gas are typically thought of as examples of the dependence on Russia.
“Not everyone approves of using the word dependence to imply that we’re dependent on Russia. The reason for this is that there are substitutes for the energy imported from Russia. There are, of course, ties under the normal circumstances,”
The share of natural gas of the total energy consumption of Finland, for example, has decreased to no more than seven per cent in recent years due to the high cost of Russian natural gas.

F-Secure launched its vulnerability reward program in the spring of 2014 and suspended it in February 2015. The initial program only covered F-Secure Younited storage services.
The company has now relaunched its bug bounty program and expanded it to include many of the firm’s products. The new program includes consumer products such as F-Secure SAFE, Internet Security, Freedom, and Key, and corporate solutions such as F-Secure Client Security, Server Security, Email and Server Security, Internet Gatekeeper, Linux Security, and Protection Service for Business (PSB) products.
Experts who find vulnerabilities in these applications can earn between €100 ($110) and €15,000 ($16,500).
