Arduino Pro IDE (alpha preview) with advanced features

Arduino has a new interesting looking IDE coming. Now in Alpha version.

The Arduino Pro IDE is a completely new Development Environment for Arduino Programming based on Arduino CLI, Eclipse Theia Open Source IDE and Electron framework.

The Arduino Pro IDE promises to bring new features for advanced users whilst retaining continuity with the simple “classic” Arduino IDE. It is available in Windows, Mac OS X and Linux versions.

You can download the latest release of the Arduino Pro IDE here.

Did you know our team is working hard on a debugger? Here’s the proof!

This change is the base for integrating a full-fledged debugger for Arduino boards in any application by using the arduino-cli gRPC interface.

  7. Tomi Engdahl says:

Today, we’ve released the first prototype of one of the most requested Arduino Pro IDE features: the Arduino Debugger! Give it a try!

  8. Tomi Engdahl says:

The Arduino CLI is steady as she goes! The team is constantly fixing issues and modeling the user experience thanks to the community’s feedback.

  9. Tomi Engdahl says:

Over the past two months our newly established Tooling Team has taken over operations concerning the Arduino CLI and Pro IDE. They’ve been silent at work in their little rooms, striving to come up with solutions to reported issues and feature requests. As time went on, the development of the CLI and Pro IDE has been moving forward in a parallel fashion, so here we bring you new versions of both applications for you to play with and build your workflows around.

CLI and IDE get better together
