End of wired telephone is near in Finland

Biggest telecom operator Telia is trying to get rid of offering wired telephone service this year. Only three percent of voice calls in Finland are from traditional wired telephones. Telia has only few thousand consumer wired telephone lines left and almost 30 000 business lines.

Other big operator Elisa has tried for years to actively to convert wire line users to use cell phone instead.
