Can I connect a parallel printer to a serial port?

I am trying to connect a parallel printer to a serial port. Is there an adaptor available for one or can I build a circuit to convert? The piece of equipment I am trying to print from originally had a serial printer connected and therefore only has a serial port.

Any help would be most appreciated.
